It has become a tradition to go to the beach with my parents and my sister's family every September. It is the best time to go! The weather is perfect and we get the beach to ourselves. It's another wonderful benefit of homeschooling! The next several posts are just a few snapshots of the memories that were made!

Fishing Adventures
Our Uncle Ben is quiet the fisherman. He is always teaching the kids some wonderful hands on science lessons. Last year he found an octopus washed up on the shore. This year the ocean was full of fish! Each day he would throw out his net and catch 10 or more fish for the kids tide pools. He even showed them how to clean a fish "the boys loved the stabbing part" and then made yummy fish nuggets for lunch! Brittian and Evan both thought they were delicious...and they never eat fish! It you look closely you can see a school of fish in this wave.
The highlight of the trip was when Uncle Ben caught this huge stingray.
Here are the boys holding the fish before throwing them back in the ocean.
Of course we released the stingray as well!
My Three Sons
The boys love playing in the sand together.
It has become our tradition at the beach to dig a huge hole in the sand. Then the kids make a path from it to the ocean. Next, we all watch and wait for a big wave to fill our hole with water! Then the kids enjoy the hole for the rest of the day!
The boys will ride the waves for hours!
It's great how much fun they have for FREE!
Favorite Pictures
This year we decided to take our own pictures of the family.
