Anderson Academy Field Trip

The kids have learned all the U.S Presidents. This year we are working on learning their first names as well. They decided to do their weekly speech for Classical Conversations on President James K. Polk. Did you know he was our 11th President and that he was born in Pineville, North Carolina? Once we learned that, we headed to Pineville to stand on the exact land where he grew up and experience the life he lived as a little boy on the farm. It is amazing how much I learn each day as a teacher. It makes me wonder what I learned in school?

Here is the whole class on the front steps of the Polk's "recreated" house.
