Sweet n Spicy & Sweet Potato Adah

Last week was a hard week.
Annascott climbed out of her crib one morning and again during her afternoon nap. It was not until I heard heard a muffled cry that I ran upstairs to check on her. It was coming from behind the closed door of the boy's bathroom. I quickly opened it and found Annascott standing in an inch of water which was running off the counter from the sink, which she had clogged, and was overflowing with running water. After rescuing her and cleaning up the mess I saw that her afternoon nap was not going to happen. The rest of the day we had a very fussy and over tired 2 year old on our hands. Everytime I turned around she was into something different. After vacuuming up an entire box of Cheerios that she spilt down the stairs...I was finally pushed to my limit! As soon as Evan walked in the door. I escaped to my bathtub frustrated and exhausted from parenting my out of control little "sweet n spicy." However, when I crawled into bed that night I was surprised to find this sweet note in my bed from my "sweet potato Adah."
What an encouragement this note was!!! Especially since I know she was just as exhausted from babysitting her little sister that day. I don't know what I would do without Adah!
The next day we took the crib down and set up the toddler bed. I bought a few child door locks and got out the gates. A sweet neighbor let me have her old video monitor as well. After a few attempts to get out of her new bed...Annascott quickly learned her new boundaries. However, everyday she continues to surprise us with her adventures. Today I did found her upstairs in the guest bedroom with the window 4 inches open (no screen). My, this 5th child of mine has finally caused me to understand why people have created all this child lock stuff. I've never had to pull it out for any of my other children. I'm praying daily for strength for Annascott's guardian angels!

This is so you, Annaliese! You were always so great at leaving encouraging notes. I'm sure she picked that up from you. How sweet!
