Last weekend Evan and I went with my sister and her husband on a weekend get away trip to Chapel Hill. On Friday night we stayed at a nice resort hotel. The guys played golf, racket ball, and even took a dip in the pool. During this time, my sister and I enjoyed a relaxing facial at the spa, followed by a cucumber mint pedicure! What a treat! That night we had a wonderful time of fellowship over a candle lit dinner...without kids!
The next morning we got dressed in our Carolina Blue and headed to Chapel Hill for the Carolina vs. Georgia Tech basketball game. We were so blessed to receive these 4 VERY ClOSE tickets as a gift from a college friend's dad. Evan's brother helped me get the tickets as a surprise for Christmas! He was thrilled.
Even though it was a very rainy day...we still enjoyed ourselves at the game. Especially since the Tarheels were victorious over the Jackets! Way to go Heels!
After the game we hung out some at the mall and then enjoyed another quiet dinner together. Since we had no curfew...we splurged and went out to a 9:30 movie. Don't know when was the last time Evan and I did that...much less have seen a movie in the theater!
The next morning we slept in! Evan and I took took our traditional run on campus...even though it was still sprinkling some. After we checked out, we made our last stop at Sutton's "a historical soda fountain drug store" for a yummy lunch before we headed home! It was not long before we started receiving phone calls from the grandparents...making sure we were coming back to get the kids before the snow!!!
What a relaxing weekend with wonderful fellowship!
Thanks Poppie, Grandmommie, Grampy and Grampy! We could not have done this without you!
You are the greatest!

Here I am at the end of the game collecting souvenir cups for the kids!

I'm so happy for you and Evan to have the chance to get away. It looks like y'all had an incredible time.
Do you know what happened the last time Brian and I had a little weekend getaway?
